Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 31, 2026

The short version

You are trusting us with pictures of your child. Here is exactly what that means, in plain language. Every promise links to the section that spells it out in full.

This summary is here to be readable, not to replace what follows. The full policy below is what governs your account.

Aanvi ("we," "us," or "our") is a baby milestone tracking and memory-sharing application operated by Aanvi. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the controls available to you. By using Aanvi, you agree to the practices described here.

Who can use Aanvi

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Aanvi is designed for parents, guardians, and family members, not for use by children. If we learn that someone under 13 has created an account, we will delete it as soon as reasonably practicable.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and sign-in method (such as Google or Apple sign-in).
  • Family profiles: baby name, date of birth, relationship to the child, and optional profile photos.
  • Content: photos, videos, milestone entries, quotes, captions, and any other content you upload or create.
  • Communications: messages you send to us via email or in-app support.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device type, operating system, and app version.
  • Usage data: screens visited, features used, tap and interaction events, session duration, and crash reports. This data helps us understand how people use Aanvi so we can fix bugs and improve the experience.
  • Log data: IP address, browser type, and referring URLs when you visit our website.

Analytics

We use a product analytics provider to collect anonymous usage data such as screens visited, features used, and app interactions. We use it solely to improve the app, and it is never linked to your personal content: not your photos, not your videos, not your notes. Analytics data is never shared for advertising. You can request deletion of your analytics data at any time by contacting support@aanvi.app.

On our website we use a website analytics provider to collect anonymized page view and performance data. It collects no personally identifiable information, and it has no access to the app.

How we use your information

  • Provide core functionality: storing memories, tracking milestones, and sharing with family.
  • Enable family invitations, notifications, reactions, and comments.
  • Send important service communications such as account verification and security alerts.
  • Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.

Who owns your memories

You do. The photos, videos, milestones, quotes, and notes you add to Aanvi remain yours. Uploading them does not transfer ownership to us, and we make no claim over them.

To actually run the app we need your permission to store your content and show it back to you and the family members you invite. That permission exists only while your content is on Aanvi. Delete a memory or your account and it ends. The full wording is in our Terms of Service.

We do not train AI on your content

Your photos, videos, captions, and notes are never used to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models, ours or anyone else's. We do not run automated scanning, face recognition, or content analysis over your memories, and we do not pass them to any third party that would.

The only automated processing we do to your media is technical: creating a smaller thumbnail so your timeline loads quickly.

How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we never share it for advertising. Aanvi carries no ads and no advertising trackers. We share information only in these situations:

  • With your family: content is visible only to users you explicitly invite into your family space.
  • Service providers: we use trusted third-party services to operate Aanvi, including cloud hosting, analytics, and authentication. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Aanvi or its users.

Third-party services

Running Aanvi means relying on a small number of outside companies. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job, acts on our instructions, and is not permitted to use your data for its own purposes. This is the complete list of what leaves Aanvi and why:

  • Cloud infrastructure stores your account, memories, photos, and videos, and runs our backend. This is where your data lives, and the section below tells you in which country.
  • Sign-in providers confirm it is you when you choose to sign in with an existing account instead of a password.
  • Crash reporting receives device and error details when the app fails, so we can fix what broke. It never receives your photos.
  • Product analytics receives anonymous usage data, as described above. It is never linked to your photos, videos, or notes.
  • Subscription billing processes whether your subscription is active. Card details go to Apple or Google and never reach us or this provider.
  • Maps and location search turns a place you search for into a location you can tag. It receives the words you typed, nothing else.
  • Website hosting and analytics covers aanvi.app only. It has no access to the app or anything in it.

Every provider operates under its own privacy policy, and we choose them for their data protection practices. If you want to know exactly which companies these are, email support@aanvi.app and we will tell you. We list them by role here to keep this readable, not to keep them from you.

Google Photos import

Aanvi offers an optional feature that lets you import photos and videos from your Google Photos library into a baby's timeline. It is off by default and runs only when you start an import.

When you use it, we ask your Google Account for a single permission, described by Google as "See selected photos and videos from Google Photos." We use the Google Photos Picker API, which means:

  • We never browse your library: you choose items inside Google's own picker. We cannot list, search, or read anything you did not select.
  • We only receive what you pick: Google returns just the items you selected, and only for that import session.
  • We store one copy: the photos and videos you select are downloaded once and saved to your family's private storage, where they are treated exactly like any other memory you upload.
  • Only your family sees them: imported media is visible only to the family members you have invited.

We do not use Google Photos data for advertising, we do not sell or transfer it, and we do not use it to train machine learning or AI models. We request no Google user data beyond this and the sign-in information described above.

You can revoke Aanvi's access to your Google Photos at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Revoking access does not remove memories you already imported — you can delete those from within the app at any time.

Aanvi's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Children's privacy

Aanvi is built for parents and family members to document their child's growth. The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Content about children (photos, milestones, and videos) is uploaded and managed entirely by the parent or guardian who created the account. This content is only shared with family members the account holder explicitly invites. We do not use children's content for advertising or profiling. Analytics data (such as screen views and feature usage) does not include or reference the content of your photos, videos, or personal entries.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or that children's content has been exposed beyond the intended family group, contact us immediately at support@aanvi.app and we will take appropriate action.

Data security

Your memories are encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL while they travel between your phone and our servers, and encrypted at rest by Google Cloud while they are stored. Access is controlled by security rules that check, on every single request, that you belong to the family whose memories you are asking for.

We do not browse your memories. A small number of people maintaining Aanvi hold administrative access to the infrastructure, which is what allows us to fix problems and respond to support requests. We use it for that and nothing else.

No system is completely secure, and we would rather say so than promise otherwise. What we can tell you is that we take reasonable precautions, keep our dependencies current, and review our security rules whenever the app changes.

Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights or personal data, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Notifications will be made as soon as reasonably practicable after discovery of the breach.

Data retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete specific content (photos, milestones, or entries), it is typically removed from our active systems within 30 days.

When you delete your account, we delete all associated personal data and content typically within 30 days. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed. Data that has been anonymized and aggregated (such as general usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.

Your rights and controls

  • Access and edit: view and update your profile, family details, and content from the app settings.
  • Delete content: remove individual memories, milestones, or entries at any time.
  • Delete your account: request complete account deletion and removal of all associated data from your profile settings or by emailing support@aanvi.app.
  • Data export: email support@aanvi.app and we will send you a copy of your memories and account data.
  • Withdraw consent: you can stop using the app at any time. For analytics data, contact support to request deletion.
  • Complain to a regulator: if you think we have mishandled your data, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would rather you told us first at support@aanvi.app so we can put it right, but you do not have to.

A real person reads every message sent to that address, and we aim to respond within a few days.

Permissions

Aanvi may request the following device permissions. Each is optional and used only for the stated purpose:

  • Camera: to take photos or videos directly within the app.
  • Photo library / storage: to upload existing photos and videos.
  • Notifications: to send milestone reminders and family activity updates.

Where your data is stored

Aanvi runs on Google Cloud. Your account details, memories, photos, and videos are stored and processed in the United States. Our database uses Google's multi-region United States location, and media files and backend services run in Google's us-central1 region in Iowa.

Aanvi is operated from India, so we may access this data from India in order to run and support the service. If you use Aanvi from anywhere outside the United States, including the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Google Cloud's data processing terms and the safeguards they provide for those transfers. By using Aanvi, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of Aanvi after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
